Jessica

Jessica is now going to playgroup three, sometimes four, times a week at the school TK Candra. It's pretty close to the house and when I'm not working early morning I take her, otherwise she gets an 'ojek' or motorbike taxi with Mum or Mba Nur. Days and times are confusing. Jan, Mar, May etc she goes on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Mon & Wed 10am - 11:30am; Fri 7:30 - 9:30am. Feb, Apr, Jun etc she goes on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Tue & Thu 10 - 11:30am. Fri & Sat 7:30 - 9:30am. Seh even has different uniforms for each day and month. Mondays = white shirt and cyan dress and hat. Wednesdays = yellow P.E kit. Fridays = muslim clothes. Tuesdays = red & white plaid shirt with red skirt. Thursdays = green & white 'batik'. Saturdays = purple P.E. kit. PHEW!!! Not surprisingly we get confused about uniforms and times! And she's only three years old...

Jessica is learning to share with Jennifer much more these days, although she occasionally won't give something to Jennifer, which makes Jennifer angry and either a) cries or b) screams loudly before sulking in the corner or against the wall. She's so funny when she's angry or 'marah'. She doesn't stay angry for long though, unlike Jessica! She's full of excuses not to do something now. For example, she never wants to have a bath in the morning, and keeps saying she'll bath or 'mandi' after thisor that. But she keeps making up excuses. Then she gets in a tantrum because she doesn't want to bath with Daddy, then Mummy, then Mba ur or Rina. She winds herself up into a big crying / screaming fit on a regular basis. She's frequently late for school as a result.

She comes out with some really funny sayings too. Just yesterday I was walking with Jessica from the park to the house around 6pm when Jessica looked up and saw a crescent moon. She then said, "Daddy, why is the moon broken?" So cute! I also asked her where she lived, wanting her to say Jakarta, but she looked at me as though I was stupid and said, "In here Daddy". In here of course meant the house. Ha ha! Anotther one was when I asked her why she liked ice-cream and she said, "Because it makes me happy makes you jealous bye bye muah muah muah (kiss sound three times). Hilarious!
